Crown Trade Colorfects Creative Finishes
have been used to dramatic effect at Birmingham's College of
Food, Tourism and Creative Studies, producing eight floors of
striking modern colour for its students - at the same time,
providing a tough, durable surface that is easy to clean. The
transformation has been achieved using a selection of bold colours
from Crown Trade's Aquaflek and Aquatone paint finishes.
Andy Heathcote, Estates Manager at the college, said: "Different
colours in the multicolour finishes were chosen for each of
the college's eight floors. Bold colours such as yellows, blues
and reds were chosen to induce a mood of creativity and inspiration."
"At the same time, the durability and serviceability of the
paint was vital. With a large number of students there is always
the possibility of graffiti, so the painted surfaces have to
be easy to clean and tough enough to withstand this careless
treatment."
The durability of Aquatone and Aquaflek surfaces is strengthened
by the application of a heavy-duty glaze, providing a tough,
flexible coating that is both washable and graffiti resistant.
